Gr. 100<\/em> is relocated from <em>L\u00fcneburg<\/em> to <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.de\/maps?q=Nordholz&amp;hl=de&amp;sll=51.151786,10.415039&amp;sspn=25.684866,50.756836&amp;hnear=Nordholz,+Niedersachsen&amp;t=m&amp;z=12\" target=\"_blank\">Nordholz<\/a> in early April 1940. The unit continued with anti ship missions off the coast of Norway and over the North Sea.<\/p>\n<p>On April 10th, 1940, aircraft of the <em>K. Gr. 100<\/em> detected a Royal Navy Task Force off the sout-eastern tip of the Orkney Islands[1. Balke, Ulf (1981): p. 32]: the Battleship <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/HMS_Warspite_%2803%29\" target=\"_blank\">HMS Warspite<\/a> and escort, together with the aircraft carrier <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/HMS_Furious_%2847%29\" target=\"_blank\">HMS Furious<\/a>. The attack was a draw: <em>K. Gr. 100<\/em> was not able to hit any of the targets due to bad weather and air cover but shot down one <em>Hawker Hurricane<\/em>[2. Balke, Ulf (1981): p. 33].<\/p>\n<p>Only two days later, <em>K. Gr. 100<\/em> relocated again, this time to the airfield at <a href=\"http:\/\/g.co\/maps\/wn3s4\" target=\"_blank\">Schleswig<\/a>[3. Zapf, J\u00fcrgen (2008): p. 241].<\/p>\n<p>On April 15th, 1940, <em>K. Gr. 100<\/em> was moved again, this time to foreign territory for the first time: the group is moved to <em>Kristiansand<\/em> and <em>Oslo<\/em>[4. Balke, Ulf (1981): p. 34]. From here, an attack on the British Expeditionary Forces near <em>Narvik<\/em> was launched. The group managed to land on a frozen lake on the return leg, refueled and headed for <em>Aalborg <\/em>in Denmark on April 17th[5. Balke, Ulf (1981): p. 34].<\/p>\n<p id=\"firstHeading\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-South.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[196]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-205 aligncenter\" title=\"KG 100 - Norway (South)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-South-849x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"771\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-South-849x1024.jpg 849w, http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-South-248x300.jpg 248w, http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-South.jpg 917w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>During April, the unit was flying missions over Norway to fight the English forces that had landed in several locations. By May 2nd, the group was able to relocate to <em>Trondheim<\/em> after the British Forces had been withdrawing their troops since late April.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-North.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[196]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-200 aligncenter\" title=\"KG 100 - Norway (North)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-North-1024x961.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-North-1024x961.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-North-300x281.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.chronicles-of-the-luftwaffe.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/KG-100-Norway-North.jpg 1096w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a> Throughout May, <em>K. Gr. 100<\/em> was busy fighting the remaining British Forces around Narvik and Bod\u00f8. These flights had been conducted from the airfield at <em>Stavanger<\/em>, to where the group had been relocated beginning of May.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Meanwhile, the British High Command had issues orders to retreat from Norway &#8211; <em>K. Gr. 100<\/em> was flying the last mission up north on May 29th, 1940 &#8211; an attack on the airfield of <em>Skaanland<\/em>. On this last mission, the group commander, <em>Hptm. Artur v. Casimir<\/em> was shot down and he and his crew where taken prisoner of war. All had been taken with the retreating British troops to England and then to Canada where they remained PoW until the end of the war[6.
