In early 1942, targets where Soviet shipping in the Black Sea and the city of <a href=\"http:\/\/g.co\/maps\/5qb32\" target=\"_blank\">Sevastopol<\/a>. As the front moved east, so did the Geschwader.<\/p>\n<p>By January 24th, 1942, the <em>I.\/KG 100<\/em> was relocated to the airfield at <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kirovograd\" target=\"_blank\">Kirovograd<\/a> in the central Ukraine just to be moved again just five days later, on January 29th, to the town of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saky\" target=\"_blank\">Saki (Saky)<\/a> on the Crimea. From February 1942 to May 1942, <em>I.\/KG 100<\/em> was occupied supporting the fighting om the Crimean peninsula &#8211; mainly missions against Sevastopol and the Kerch peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>As the fighting on the Crimean peninsula ceased, the <em>I.\/KG 100<\/em> continued to move eastwards &#8211; first to the airfield of <em>Samorsk<\/em> on the eastern Crimea, then on to <a href=\"http:\/\/g.co\/maps\/xjkqg\" target=\"_blank\">Kotelnikovo<\/a>. From here, <em>I.\/KG 100<\/em> was supporting the Battle for Stalingrad &#8211; today known as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Volgograd\" target=\"_blank\">Volgograd<\/a>. By the end of 1942 and into January 1943, <em>I.\/KG 100<\/em> continued the support for the encircled <em>6.
